What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
A common rule of thumb for a video's rate by followers. TikTok rates run higher than Instagram's.

Making sense of TikTok engagement rates
Engagement rate shows how many people did something with a video, compared with your audience or with the people who watched it.
Followers or views
By followers, the rate compares a video with the size of your account, which is how brands usually compare creators. By views, it counts only the times the video was watched, so it shows how good the video itself was. Most TikTok views come from people who don't follow you, so the two rates can be very different.
Why TikTok rates are higher than Instagram's
TikTok's For You feed shows videos to people who don't follow you, and their likes and comments count too. A video can get more likes than you have followers. That is why a good rate on TikTok is higher than a good rate on Instagram.
Rates swing from video to video

How do I calculate engagement rate on TikTok?
Add up the video's likes, comments, shares and saves. Divide the total by your followers, or by the video's views, and multiply by 100. The calculator does this as you type.
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
By followers, 3% to 6% is average, 6% to 10% is good, and above 10% is excellent. Smaller accounts tend to have higher rates, so compare yours with accounts of a similar size.
Should I divide by followers or by views?
Use followers to compare your account with others, which is what most brands look at. Use views to compare your own videos with each other, because it shows how people reacted to the ones who saw them.
Where do I find a video's views, shares and saves?
They are on the video itself: likes, comments, saves and shares sit on the right, and the view count shows on your profile grid. For more detail, open the video, tap the three dots, and choose Analytics.
Why does my rate change so much between videos?
TikTok shows each video to a different number of people, depending on how the first viewers react. That is normal. The average over ten videos is a fairer picture than any one of them.
Are my numbers sent anywhere?
