Writing an About section people read

Your About section is the one place on LinkedIn where you say, in your own words, who you are and what you do.

Put the point in the first two lines

LinkedIn shows only the first lines of your About section before "see more". Say plainly who you help and what you do there, in words people would search for, such as "product designer" or "bookkeeping for freelancers".

Write it like you'd say it

Short paragraphs and plain words read better than a list of titles. Skip "passionate" and "results-driven": everyone uses them, so they tell a reader nothing. One real detail, such as what you built or who you helped, does more.

End with what to do next

Tell people what you'd like them to do: get in touch, follow for updates, or see your work. Then keep your profile active: write your next posts and schedule them with Posttyy.

No. The headline is the short line under your name, and it holds 220 characters. This tool writes the longer About section. For a headline, take the first line of a bio that you like and shorten it.

Does it work for company pages?
