Visitors decide in a few seconds whether to follow. Your bio has to tell them why.

Say what you do first

Start with your niche in plain words, such as "wedding photographer" or "handmade furniture". It tells visitors at once if the account is for them, and plain words are the ones people type into Instagram search.

Point to your link

Your bio sits just above your link, so use the last line as a signpost: "New pieces below" or "Free plan below" tells people what they get for the tap. Leave out anything a stranger can't act on, like a list of everything you like.

Short lines, few emoji

Two or three short lines are quicker to read than one long one. Use an emoji or two to mark a line, not to decorate every word. Then keep the profile worth the follow: plan your grid and schedule your posts so the feed stays fresh.
