A short vertical video on Instagram or Facebook, shown in a full-screen feed with recommendations from accounts you don't follow.
Reels are Meta's answer to TikTok: vertical 9:16 video with music, effects and text, up to a few minutes long. On Instagram, a single video posted to your feed publishes as a Reel; a video inside a carousel doesn't.
Reels are the easiest way to reach non-followers on Instagram, because they're recommended in their own tab and on Explore. Watch time and shares are what drive that.
