A single post holding several photos or videos that viewers swipe through, on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads and Pinterest.
Carousels suit anything with steps or a sequence: tips, before-and-after, a product from every angle, a story told in slides. Instagram allows up to 20 items, and TikTok up to 35 photos in a photo post.
They tend to perform well because every swipe is engagement, and Instagram may show the post again with a later slide first to people who scrolled past the first time.
