Short for "ask me anything": a session where a person or brand invites the audience to send questions and answers them publicly.
AMAs started on Reddit and spread to every network. On Instagram they usually run through a question sticker in Stories, on X and Threads as a post inviting replies, and on YouTube or TikTok as a live stream.
They work because the audience sets the agenda. A founder, an expert or a creator gets a stream of real questions, and the answers become content that can be reused as posts, Reels or an FAQ.
