Benchmark
A reference figure you compare your results against, such as an industry's average engagement rate.
A number means little on its own. A 2% engagement rate is strong for a large Instagram account and weak for a small TikTok one. Benchmarks give the context: your own past results, competitors of a similar size, or published industry averages.
The most useful benchmark is usually your own history. Comparing this month to the last three shows whether what you changed is working, without the noise of accounts that aren't like yours.
