Moderation removes spam, scams, abuse and off-topic noise so real conversations can happen. Most networks let you filter comments containing chosen words, hide them automatically, limit who can comment, and restrict or block repeat offenders.
A clear policy helps: what gets hidden, what gets a reply, and what gets passed on to customer service. Deleting honest criticism tends to cause more trouble than answering it.
