Character limit
The most text a network allows in one post, caption, bio or name.
Limits differ widely. An X post is 280 characters on a standard account (Premium subscribers can post longer), a Threads post 500, an Instagram or TikTok caption 2,200, a LinkedIn post 3,000 and a YouTube description 5,000. Bios are shorter still: 150 characters on Instagram, 160 on X.
Networks don't all count the same way either. X counts every link as 23 characters whatever its length, and some emoji count as two. Checking before you post saves a caption being cut off or refused.
